Summary

Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines,motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Individual is required to have their own tools.

  • Previous Beverage manufacturing experience is helpful.

  • Knowledge of PLC’s, mechanical systems, electronic control circuitry, motors, hydraulic systems, ammonia systems, boilers, pumps most helpful.

  • Rotating shifts, some weekends

  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.

  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.

  • Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.

  • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.

  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.

  • Repairs or replaces defective parts.Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.

  • Lubricates and cleans parts.Starts devices to test their performance.

  • Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.

  • Repairs electrical equipment.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Beverage/Bottling line experience preferred.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software; SAP Preventive Maintenance software would be a plus.

Other Qualifications

Must provide own tools in a locking tool chest.
